He was born in Jetpur, Gujarat, on May 17, 1951. Among his three brothers, he was the youngest. He was just five years old when he developed an interest in singing. He began singing on stage with the assistance of his older brother, and his voice soon began to captivate audiences.

Sung During The Conflict Between India and China

He performed on stage in 1962, right in the middle of the India-China conflict. On the stage, he was singing “Aye mere watan ke logon.” His voice become quite popular. A guy then emerged from the throng and paid him Rs 51. With persistence, Pankaj made his way into Bollywood with the 1972 release of “Kaamna.”

Spent 4 Years Studying Music

For 4 years, he also received instruction at Sangeet Natya Academy to hone his musical abilities. He put equal emphasis on his education and music, traveling to Mumbai to complete his degree. Even in college programs, his vocal magic was evident, and he quickly rose to popularity.

His debut ghazal album, “Aahat,” was well-received by the public when it was published in 1980. People have a distinct place in their hearts for the song “Chithi Aayi Hai” from the 1986 movie “Naam.”

Amit Shah, the home minister, has also posted in remembrance of Pankaj Udhas. “Pankaj Udhas ji mesmerized many generations with his melodious voice,” the author stated.
