The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting took enforcement action, banning 18 OTT platforms, 19 websites, and 10 applications. 57 social media handles have also been banned by the administration.

You may watch everything you want from the comfort of your home thanks to websites and applications these days. However, there are plenty of those who abuse them. People may access pornographic material via a multitude of websites, over-the-top platforms, and applications. A significant move has been made in this regard by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting took enforcement action, banning 18 OTT platforms, 19 websites, and 10 applications.

Furthermore Prohibited Are 57 Social Media Accounts

In addition, 57 social media accounts have been banned. The Indian government claims that all of these websites and over-the-top platforms are in violation of the IT Act. In addition, these internet sites were breaking the Indian Penal Code. The government also thinks that these OTT platforms and websites have been displaying material that denigrates women’s images for the last several years. On March 12, 2024, Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur made this declaration.

Let us inform you that some of the blocked and banned handles had 1 crore users, while others had 15 lakh users.
